DOUBLE DATE 2.0

Bernice Nauta & David Kloosterboer

OPENING OCTOBER 18TH

Participants
Elle van Baaren, Max Onink, Edgar Fulton, Robin Finch Pickering. . .

For this ongoing exhibition estafette, Max Onink and I invite Bernice Nauta & David Kloosterboer to join us for the second round of DOUBLE DATE. Our contributions enter into dialogue with the traces, gestures and objects left behind by the first round’s artists: Edgar Fulton & Robin Finch Pickering.

Plan your visit to experience the exhibition-in-process and don’t miss the opening of DOUBLE DATE 2.0 on 18 October, 17:00–21:30!

Bernice Nauta

The practice of Bernice Nauta (b. 1991, Netherlands) consists of painting, drawing, filmmaking, installations, objects and stories. Her work explores themes such as doubling, mimicry and personhood. Often beginning from her own experiences, Nauta develops works that unfold like fragmented narratives. In 2019 she made the exhibition Hello Echo; a copy of the facade of artspace 1646, doubled inside the exhibition space, generating an eerie feeling of echoing. Next to her individual practice, she is part of the collective It It Part Of An Ensemble and co-founded Hi, Jack! Publishing, an artist-run press producing playful “bootleg” zines.

David Kloosterboer
David Kloosterboer (b. 2000, Netherlands) makes paintings, films, and sculptures. He likes to work in a loose and abstract way but gives concrete hints to psycholigal drama, using a range of subjects such as holidays, ghosts and sleep. He also curates experimental, site-specific exhibitions, including Dear, John and Wasstraat, and co-founded Hi, Jack! Publishing, an artist-run press producing playful “bootleg” zines.
